How to Use ART DTrack
Starting DTrack
Before starting DTrack make sure camera and computer are in the same subnet. Only then DTrack will see your camera controller.
If needed change the camera configuration by inserting a USB memory into the camera controller or Smarttrack 3 camera. A config file will be written onto the stick. Edit the config file and re-insert stick to reconfigure. For more information consult the manual that came with your ART system.
Start data acquisition by pressing the Start button. Note that to access any item from the menu to configure e.g. the body configuration you need to stop acquisition first.
Room Calibration
The room calibration can be started by pressing F5 or in the “Tracking“ menu.
In the room calibration in DTrack the Y axis should be pointing up. This can be done wither without a room calibration triangle:
Or with a calibration triangle:
Outputting Data to FusionHub
DTrack needs to be specially configured to send data to the correct IP address and output port. Find the IP address of your headset or PC in the WIFI configuration.
In case FusionHub is running on your HMD: In the DTrack output settings enter the IP address of your headset. If FusionHub is running on your PC (server-side version), enter the address of your PC (check the
this computercheckbox if Dtrack and FusionHub run on the same PC; recommended). Write down the port number. It will be needed in the FusionHub configuration.
Make sure to set the output target for DTrack in the DTrack output settings to the IP address of your HMD. Avoid activating output to any IP addresses that are not present in the network as this might slow down communication. Select “Act as router” if your PC is connected to different subnets.
Correct Body Configuration
Attach the marker target to your headset
Open the body administration dialog (press F8 or select in “Tracking“ menu):
In cases of delayed tracking try the medium prediction filter:
In the body calibration dialog (bottom right button) load the body file for your HMD:
Leave the configuration dialog by pressing the exit button and start data acquisition. When the HMD target is in the tracking volume it should be recognized similarly to what’s shown below.
